Beginner Class Starts tonight

Tonight is the first class of our winter Beginner Class. We’re expecting a pretty full house, so if you haven’t already called, emailed or spoken to me to RSVP, I’m afraid you will need to wait until our next session. Next Chance for beginners to start is on Wed, March 7th.

Note that we are located in North Asheville off Merriman / Beaverdam.

September 6th Class FULL – Next Class December 6th

Registration is now CLOSED for our beginner class starting tomorrow. If you’ve already communicated with one of the coaches
(Todd Wilson or Bren McAneny) you’re all set. If you haven’t reached out to us before now to confirm you’re coming, our next chance for beginners to start will be Wed 12/6. If you show up tomorrow without having contacted us before the deadline, we may have to turn you away due lack of gym capacity. Asheville Catholic students will be given priority.

September 6th Beginner Class – RSVP now.

Our next beginner class starts Wed, September 6th.

Full info is available here:  http://www.fencingclubasheville.com/beginner-classes/

Spots for the Sept 6th class will be limited because our gym is only so large.   Please RSVP by emailing FencingClubAsheville@gmail.com with the name and age of the student enrolling, if you haven’t already done so.

Nobody who RSVPs will be turned away, but we may turn walk-ins away if we can’t safely squeeze them into the gym.

Practice Resumes – Membership Reminder

Hey, practice is BACK ON tonight. See everyone there! Also, this is a reminder that USA Fencing memberships are due for renewal. Get your membership renewed ASAP before we start checking at practice. Non-competitive ($10) at a minimum is required for all fencers at the club either at open fencing or beginner class.

Link to renew is here:  https://member.usfencing.org/

Schedule change for May 31st

Due to scheduling conflict at our location we have some changes for two weeks from now, May 31st:

Beginner class will NOT happen at 7pm. Open fencing will commence at 8:15pm. ALL beginners are invited to open fencing from 8:15-9:15 (or later) and private lessons will occur on request during open fencing.

If a beginner can’t make the 8:15 time, don’t sweat it, you won’t miss anything.  We won’t cover new material.  You’ll only get some extra practice time on the stuff from previous classes and some time to fence open bouts.
